Interfaith Worship Service

Sunday, July 26, 2015 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Universalist National Memorial Church is pleased to announce an upcoming day of interfaith worship, friendship and reflection on Sunday, July 26, 2015 along with Imam Mehmat Ayaz of the Ezer Bloom Mosque in Fairfax, Virginia. The theme for this event will be, “What Do The Bible and Qu’ran Say About Welcoming People of Other Faiths?”  The schedule for the occasion will include:

Worship Service – 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Join us for a service combining traditional elements of Christian and Muslim worship. Music will be provided by the UNMC choir. Imam Mehmet Ayaz and Pastor Crystal Lewis will present prayers for peace and unity along with a joint sermon on the day’s theme.

Light Refreshments – 12:15 p.m. to 12:55 p.m.
Stay after the worship service to build bonds of friendship across religious boundaries. Tour Universalist National Memorial Church with a member of our congregation to learn more about the history of our building and the Universalist Christian tradition.

Question & Response Session – 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Pastor Lewis and Imam Ayaz will respond to questions from attendees about topics related to interfaith bridge-building and the events experienced that morning.

We hope you will attend this day of unity.
